From the Sunshine Committee
The Sunshine Committee sends cards for important moments in our members' lives.
Please send a quick note to Phyllis at eschp@vt.edu or Mel at hokies83@vt.edu if you know of a member who needs a card. They will ensure that an appropriate card is sent on behalf of our group.
Thank you for helping us keep in touch and show our support to other members!
Share Your Photos
Please have someone in your group take quality pictures of your activities. Group shots are fine, but take some “action” photos, too. Post these pictures on our Facebook page and tell members what your group is doing.
Tawana, our historian, can use these pictures for the annual history book that she creates.

When VTWC was born in 60 years ago, some of us were much younger, and some of us had not been born. Thanks to the vision of the charter members, six decades of women have enjoyed the fellowship. Thanks to those charter members, six decades of women student have benefited from VTWC scholarships. Thanks to those charter members, we bask in the shade of trees we did not plant.
Now we are the stewards of this important club which is much more than just a club. Young ladies like Lauren, who is ten, will benefit from our dedication, our stewardship of our resources, our vision for the next 60 years. This task probably seemed daunting at certain periods during those 60 years, and we may face daunting times, too.
Let us remember the faces of those young ladies who are counting on us. We can do this. What can you do? You can tell your friends about VTWC, invite them to join you for an activity or a luncheon, or give them a membership for their birthday.
You can join a committee, investigate what the board of directors does and volunteer to fill a position, or volunteer for service projects that happen all through the year.
You can have fun and help others have fun. You can build friendships that will make your life better and make the lives of others better, too.
Remember, a generation of Laurens is counting on us.
Michelle Brauns advocates for this important non-profit which has been a lifeline for our members of our community who have the greatest need. Discover the difference one non-profit can make in protecting quality of life in the NRV.
Sarah will clarify our understanding of how to use language correctly to communicate in our diverse world.
Nicholas is a dedicated lifelong educator who experience will inspire us and guide us in these times when educational institutions and students need advocates.
