Does VTWC have a history?

The VTWC was founded in 1965 and serves as a support organization for Virginia Tech and the VT community.

What are the core values?

The four pillars of VTWC are:

  • Friendship

  • Scholarship

  • Service

  • Education

What do members do?

We strive to expand the intellectual and social horizons of our members, provide scholarships to current VT students, and promote the interests of Virginia Tech. Club members share educational, social, and service-related activities. We host events which feature speakers from the community, an active travel and tours group, and 20 special interest groups for our members ranging from hiking to bridge. Friday forums are free and open to the public and feature a broad array of lectures on topical issues.

What about the scholarship?

Members support our VTWC Scholarship Fund and have donated $178,625 since 1973 to 131 deserving VT students. Our service group provides resources to many local initiatives and volunteers throughout our VT community.

Who may join?

We invite all women who support our mission to join us.
