The VTWC Scholarship
The Community Foundation of the New River Valley oversees the scholarship selection policies, procedures, and criteria. The scholarship selection process is in keeping with the requirements of H. R. 4, the Pension Protection Act of 2006, and as provided by the Foundation's Scholarship Fund Policy.
The Scholarship Committee coordinates both the marketing of the scholarships and the selection and presentation of the awards.
Quick FYI
Only rising freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior Virginia Tech women who have attended Virginia Tech for at least one semester are eligible to apply.
Students must be in good standing to be eligible.
The scholarship is not renewable, therefore a new application must be completed each year.
There is no charge to apply.
Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, books, fees, and other appropriate educational expenses.
Checks are sent directly to Virginia Tech and applied to the student's account.
Selection for a VTWC scholarship includes the following: 3.0 QCA on a 4.0 scale, honors and awards, service to the university and community, financial need, and faculty recommendation.
